How to Make Stevia Cookie Dough Balls

Making stevia cookie dough balls is one of the easiest ways to enjoy a sweet treat without feeling guilty for consuming too much sugar. You can try the traditional cookie dough recipe, the keto cookie dough recipe, or both! Either way, these cookie dough bites will prove much better for you than regular cookie dough and taste just as good!

Tips For Making Stevia Cookie Dough Balls

Before unveiling the details on how to make Stevia cookie dough balls, I first want to mention a few things.

First, be sure that if you plan to take on the traditional version of this recipe that you heat treat your flour before using it. One of the major pitfalls associated with eating raw cookie dough is its propensity to make you sick. While most assume that it is only the raw egg in the mix that can make you ill, the fact of the matter is that raw flour is just as harmful.

To heat treat your flour before using it for your cookie dough, preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Then:

  • Spread your flour evenly over your baking sheet.
  • Pop the baking sheet in the oven for 7-10 minutes.
  • Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the flour to cool completely.

That’s it! Your flour is now ready to be used in edible cookie dough. Simple, right?

One last thing I’d like to highlight is that both of these cookie dough recipes freeze and refrigerate well. Store them in an airtight container or freezer bag before chilling. You can keep the dough for up to 5 days in the fridge and two months in the freezer.

Alright, enough of the chatter. Let’s get on to those recipes!

What Is Stevia?

Stevia is a substance taken from a plant by the same name in nature. This “sugar” is considered a hundred times sweeter than traditional sugar (maybe even more), and has grown exponentially in popularity due to its low carb, low calories, and low fat content.

This makes Stevia the perfect addition to morning coffees, baked goods, and yes, edible cookie dough.

Is Edible Cookie Dough Sweetened With Stevia Healthy?

If you’re looking to make edible cookie dough that is sweetened with Stevia sweetener, it is important to know that the cookie dough may or may not be considered healthy. What constitutes as healthy these days often varies from person to person, as people have dietary needs that are radically different.

Still, because Stevia is low calorie and low carb, it is often better for those looking to lose weight, and also, for those who need to control blood sugar levels in relation to health conditions such as diabetes.

Stevia can be used in lieu of sugar in all sorts of yummy treats from chocolate chip cookie dough to keto edible cookie dough. And before you classify Stevia as just another sugar free substitute, note that there are little health risks associated with Stevia (although there are a few). Aspartame, Splenda, and other artificial granulated sweetener and liquid sweetener types have more health risks associated with using them long-term.

Is Stevia Cookie Dough Considered Low Carb?

When made with clean, low carb, simple ingredients, Stevia cookie dough can, indeed, be considered low carb.

However, you should note that if the dark chocolate chips are the traditional sort, or if you are making edible cookie dough with all purpose flour, your “keto” edible cookie dough is no longer keto.

It is for this reason that I am providing you with two cookie dough recipes. One is keto, one isn’t, but both utilize Stevia. Sweet!

Stevia Cookie Dough: You Won’t Even Know They’re Sugar Free!

All in all, Stevia cookie dough is a great idea for those looking to embark upon a low carb diet, or those wishing to cut down on their sugar intake. These delicious edible cookie dough Stevia recipes include simple ingredients to make for a deliciously easy snack so you can munch on completely guilt free.
