Ngl, hated Kamio at first, but it’s growing on me quite a lot. Meanwhile Saiyuki is beginning to lose me. Wouldn’t mind either/or at this point.

Last Saiyuki feels like it's moving way too slowly, especially for a series titled Saiyuuki.
I find it interesting and all but when 'Journey' is literally in the title it really should not be taking this long to leave the MCs house. Every time it feels like it's finally ready to leave the prologue there's another infodump to keep them in the house.
What kind of Journey to the West involves sitting around your house?

if it were so demon plan would have been successful and would not have been canceled.

saiyuki is a good manga and well worth reading.
I do not know if saiyuki will be canceled or will succeed, but I saw many comments here that praised the manga in its first 7 chapters.
I do not think a manga with slow development is bad, world trigger (that was transferred to jump sq) and boku no hero has its slow developments and they are there until today.

My opinion for Kamio and Saiyuki is still the same from the first 2-3 chapters. Kamio is still meh, but manageable and Saiyuki is meh and slow. Although I will likely drop Saiyuki. I'm really not interested in 10 year old main character and villains (I was hoping the villains weren't kids too, but... yeah...). And the constant 10 year olds crying and drama doesn't help.
Out of the 2, if both kinda fail, Kamio have a bigger chance on staying for a bit longer, due to genre and author. Otherwise I totally don't care if they survive or not.

WT and BNHA were way faster paced than Saiyuki. By chapter 9 in BNHA not only did we get introduced to 20 students and teachers as well, but we got Deku beating Bakugou's team in a school lesson. (Comeuppance already). Meanwhile in WT the battle system was already proving to be quite unique and the tactics were fun to read.

but after that WT slowed abruptly, already passed. we are already in 180 and so far we have not had a great villain presented and not a glimpse of the neighbors' world.
we are in a tournament arc that is taking forever to finish and only had two big raids and the second was very annoying.

Kamio Yui and Saiyuki to survive, need to push Yuuna and or Hinomaru Zumou to the bottom (Souma is still TBA on whether it is ending or not, so I will stay it put for now), which will be very hard to be honest. Everything else seems safe unless Chainsaw-man suddenly collapses in how it's recieved in Japan.
Or Shueisha may help both by giving a flop of the new batch (Futaro, Tokyo Shinobi or Beast Children) a worse treatment, which means an early axe, which didn't happen since...Bozebeats-ZIGA period? And even then, the batch would have to really suck for them to axe multiple of these in case they want more than 2 manga for the new serialization round.

for me to make sure that only the kishimoto's sleeve survives, the others mainly the tokyo shinobi squad will be canceled.
shogi is already the third attempt, and I honestly do not know if it will go far.
The rugby seems to be the most flashy, after all is a sport that has been growing in Japan since 2015.

Dont see how people are predicting cancellations just based on a single piece of art

Tbf it slowed down so abruptly due Ashihara's sickness and his neck plus the two year hiatus. The Tournament so far is not taking that much longer than other Shounen tournament arcs I have read when they were past the 100+ chapter mark. On the other hand their team fights are over pretty quickly compared to the 1 vs 1 fights in tournament which sometimes can take ages due like 3 chapter long flashback, endless battle smack talk, "I am behind you. No, I am behind you! Ha, I am behind you!!!" bs, etc and etc.
As for the 2nd raid compared to the 1st it is completely different. The first was a real raid, done through powers and numbers several times higher and stronger than the first time Mikado city was invaded. The 2nd was done as sabotage act, with the saboteurs being outnumbered and compared to the rabbits from the first raid in a much weaker position as well. Plus unlike the Aftokrators the Galopoulas had to get into the Border HQ for their mission to be a success. When Enedra (now Enedrad xD) did it, he did so against the orders of Hairein. So I don't see it as annoying and more as appropriate. And given their first attempt to stop Border from following Aftokrator, the Galppoula saboteurs now need to have their 2nd attempt a success else they and their nation will be the one paying the price, not their Lords.

WT has always been slow despite there being more arcs tournament arcs in other mangas, does not mean that this is not annoying and even if it is monthly, the story still continues at the same pace as it was in the era when it was weekly, just not worse than that HxH.
boku no hero is another that even having introduced more characters than saiyuki and having had more fights in the early chapters, he only started working these characters after the festival until Black clover did better.

Demons plan was just bad overall. The art was also terrible.

Seeing Kimetsu's boost on the daily charts right now makes me excited to see how well the next volume will do first week.
I wonder if it'll be able to get to 200k

Nope and nope.
Sure, the character faces themselves looked "cute" but the art overall was very poor and felt like it was drawn by an amateur. Some panels had okay detail while others just seemed disproportionate. It was very uneven throughout. I'm sure the mangaka will get better but Demon's plan was bad overall.

Yeah I still remember the last ditch attempt to pique interest by doing a character/faction dump. The writer has room for improvement.

So, what's your preferred pacing in manga? How about for WSJ manga in particular, or by genre?
