The East Bay Science Initiative (EBSi) is funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Hispanic Serving Institutions STEM Grant. The purpose of this grant is to expand STEM opportunities, diversity STEM pathways, and prepare STEM majors for productive careers that enable them to contribute to their communities, the state of California and the nation. These efforts are key to institutional success in achieving our GI 2025 targets through creative implementation focused on the Chancellor’s Office Equity Goals and Priorities. The Program Coordinator will support and help advance four major goals: to provide intentional and coherent Freshman Year Experience academic programs and support for STEM majors; to recruit and prepare California Community College (CCC) students to attain Computer Science degrees from Cal State East Bay; to recruit and prepare CCC students to enter a STEM teaching career pipeline at Cal State East Bay; to develop the skills, pathways, and opportunities for juniors and seniors to attain paid internships relevant to their majors and career goals.
This position will serve as a Project Coordinator in the Department of Public Health within the College of Science at Cal State East Bay. The project, CARE (Collaborative Approach for AANHPI Research and Education) 2.0, is funded by the National Institute of Aging with a subaward granted to Cal State East Bay under the oversight of the site Principal Investigator (PI) to recruit additional participants of South Asian descent into the study registry and to retain those enrolled in the first wave of this research. This position will support the PI’s efforts by developing and maintaining a local database of potential and enrolled participants, as well as synthesize and communicate relevant information to the study’s primary investigators at the University of California, San Francisco. In addition to database management, the position will communicate relevant information to potential and actual participants as directed, help organize and execute virtual and in-person outreach events to recruit South Asian individuals nationally, as well as prepare and implement approved platforms on electronic devices to facilitate and integrate data collection and tracking activities.
The Neighborhood Outreach Coordinator position will work under the direction of the Executive Director and the C2C Program and Evaluation Director and in collaboration with the administrative and outreach support team. This position plays a vital role in our organization's neighborhood-based efforts, including coordinating neighborhood outreach activities (i.e., resource fairs, food distributions, City of Hayward and partner events, etc.), organizing resident outreach activities, coordinating and promoting partner programming for families in the neighborhood, and supporting referral requests. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and project coordination skills, as well as experience and passion for working with a diverse and multilingual community.
This is a part-time lecture position in the Department of Criminal Justice (CRJ) for AY 24-25. Lecture faculty teach lower-division and upper-division courses in face-to-face, hybrid, and online platforms. Courses are offered at both the Hayward and Concord campuses. The CRJ program curriculum focuses on key areas of the criminal justice system such as law enforcement, courts, and corrections. Minimum requirements are JD or M.A./M.S. in a related field with teaching experience at the university level as well as professional experience. A Ph.D. in a related field preferred.
Under general direction of the AVP of Risk Management and Internal Control (RMIC), the Manager of Audits & Compliance will coordinate and support all Chancellor’s Office and external agency audit activities, and is responsible for facilitating regular audits or advisory services of campus operations performed by the Chancellor’s Office of Audit & Advisory Services (AAS), and ensuring that the campus responds to audit observations and recommendation; plan, execute, and administer the internal audit function at Cal State East Bay. This includes conducting reviews of higher-risk organization and functional activities, and recommending appropriate corrective action or changes in current policies, procedures, or processes of the University and its auxiliary organizations. This position will assess whether organizational units in the University are in compliance with CSU policies, applicable federal and state laws and regulations, and statements of policies and procedures, in a manner consistent with both University objectives and high standards of administrative practice and consult and advise management and staff, including serving on campus steering committees as needed for audit and compliance related matters.

This position will also work on verification, appeals, and coordinate administration of program compliance including but not limited to: Credential/Certificate/Non-Degree program review and awarding, Compliance Reviews as it pertains to overawards, aggregate limits, and other administration of checks and balances.

The MESA Program Director will be the Institute's key staff member overseeing delivery of the East Bay MESA College Prep and University Programs, working with the project Principal Investigator. The Career Empowerment Center (CEC) Data Analyst and Office Manager is the primary position responsible for the day to day operations of the CEC. Oversees the budget of the department, prepares forms and contracts, requests, requisitions, and monitors the supplies inventory. Under the general supervision of the Director of Facilities Operations, the Custodial Service Supervisor will supervise the day-to-day operations of the department’s swing shift custodial team which supports approximately 2,000,000 square feet of space at Cal State East Bay.
