I'm a two time alum of the university so I'm a bit biased. But I truly enjoyed my time at CSUEB. For the reasons of seeing how the campus has grown from demolishing Warren Hall over 11 years ago, to now, where there is still continued growth. You will not get the Berkeley or Stanford experience but that's to be assumed for the price you pay. If your objective is to get in and get out with your degree in hand, then it's definitely the place for you. I do agree that some of the professors are only... Read More

I transferred from Southwestern community college where I had professors who had retired from UCLA , such as my economics professor and my History professor. Both very good teachers and knowledgeable. I applied at U.C. Santa Cruz and was accepted there, but could not accept because my wife's employment was in Oakland. I entered CSU Hayward but after 3 years of study there I began to see the college in a true light. The Departments have a yearly budget and the Geography /Earth Science Department was... Read More

Degree: Statistics
In my discussions with graduates from other universities and those in industry, I've come to learn that CSUEB's Statistics graduate program is more like an associate's degree. An easy masters can be earned here but you won't be impressing employers. The professors mean well but they have tailored the program to Data Science, which they have no experience in, at the expense of rigor and depth.

The business administration program at CSUEB is challenging but rewarding as it covers a wide variety of classes, many of which may be selected at the students discretion depending on the chosen option. The struggle is getting all your requirements done in a timely manner in order to graduate. Seniors usually get priority in class registration, and classes tend to fill up quickly since there are so many students enrolled in the program. Choosing a good professor is also crucial in order to maximize... Read More

The music department at CSUEB is supportive and encouraging I studied classical guitar performance and composition, my focus leaned more towards composition my last year there, I also transfered there for a community college so I went there from 2016 - 2018. Most of the faculty there is great I studied privately with J.M.for composition and M.T.for classical guitar. M.has retired but I have met the new composition teacher I.T., and she is quite good as well. M.T.is very knowledgable and is a... Read More

California State University East Bay helped shape me into the individual I am today. Dr.X.specifically really helped me see and reach my full potential. There were so many classes I absolutely loved and would take again without complaint. Having classes offered both online and in person allowed me to work and get an education.

College is a great environment to learn and explore in. Students that attend college should take full advantage of the opportunities that are available to them and appreciate the support they receive. College will help prepare them for the workforce and those that utilize as many aspects of college life as they can will find the best career paths outside of college.

Human interaction is imperative for undergrads and a mix of courses for a masters is advised. When you stop growing you die so keeping abreast of current trends in your field is invigorating and rejuvenating. You meet interesting people and form network friendships. Stay in school!

I think the school itself is good. There are some really good professors who have working experience in real world. But some don't. So they can only teach you the business theory and you just have to try it out to see if it works for you or not. Besides, I think there is lack of diversity in the school

Cal State East Bay (CSUEB) is an affordable alternative to private colleges for both undergraduate and graduate degrees. In fact, I was allowed to enroll in graduate courses while in the final semester of my BA. I highly recommend this college for those on a budget, and who enjoy a diverse student body. As an older student, there was also a greater presence of mature students as well. Not only that, but I obtained a job at the CSUEB Writing Center, which prepared me for my eventual profession as...
